Also interested in hernia surgery: open or laparoscopic TEP technique and advanced laparoscopy: bariatric (weightloss), anti-reflux (hiatus hernia repair, fundoplication, LINX). He is the only surgeon experienced in surgical and endoscopic radiofrequency reflux management ( including STRETTA). Prof Reddy has a clinical interest in laparoscopic bariatric surgery in addition to specialist upper GI procedures such as the anti-reflux LINX device. He performs intra-gastric balloons, gastric banding, gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy and revisional bariatric surgery. He has performed he first day-case gastric bypass at St George's. He is one of the busiest surgeons in the UK and is on the 90th percentile for bariatric surgery. He has presented papers, chaired forums and performed live demonstrations to international audiences. He has published on bariatric surgery in the Lancet.

Academic Background

Professor Reddy attained a BSc(Pharm) in 1989 and received his MBBS from St George's Hospital Medical School in 1992. He became a FRCS(Eng) in 1997 and FRCS(Gen) in 2004. He trained in London and Australia where he gained an in-depth knowledge of GI surgery, liver transplantation, hepatobiliary surgery and laparoscopic surgery. Professor Reddy is fully accredited on the UK General Medical Council's Specialist Register for general surgery with a nominated special interest in upper gastrointestinal and hepato-pancreato-Hilary disease. He is a senior lecturer in surgery at St George's Hospital ,University of London and an active member at many prestigious associations.
