Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine concerned with the study and treatment of disorders and diseases of the eye. At Ashtead Hospital we treat patients with a wide range of eye problems from diabetic eye disease, degenerative eye diseases that affect people as they get older, to eye cancers.
Our highly skilled ophthalmologists have vast experience in general ophthalmology. They diagnose and treat common complaints including cataracts, age related macular degeneration (leads to a gradual loss of central vision and affects your ability to see things that are directly in front of you) and glaucoma (collective name for a group of eye conditions that can affect the vision in one or both eyes). They also specialise and treat complex eye health conditions such as retinal detachment and offer the latest treatment techniques including eye laser treatment as medically indicated.
Our consultant ophthalmology surgeons work closely with our ophthalmology-trained nurses and within larger multi-disciplinary teams when treating patients with other underlying illnesses.
We offer convenient appointments for all our patients and the very best of care for all your eye care needs.
At Ashtead Hospital there are a number of Consultant Ophthalmologists including the following:
