Miss Cerovac studied medicine at the University of Belgrade in Serbia where she started her general and plastic surgery training. From 1995 she continued training in the UK and completed the South London Specialist Registrar Rotation working at St George's, Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals in London and Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead. Having developed sub-specialist interests in aesthetic and hand and wrist surgery, she completed fellowships at McIndoe Surgical Centre in East Grinstead, Wrightington Hospital in Wigan and private Hand Clinic in Windsor.
Miss Cerovac was awarded her MSc Degree (Master in Surgical Science) for her research in the field of flexor tendon healing by the University of London in 1999.
Miss Cerovac's current NHS practice spans a truly broad spectrum of hand and wrist surgery from microsurgical repair of soft tissue to wrist joint arthroscopy and reconstruction. She would be happy to help with your acute injuries if your visit can be arranged at short notice. As a consultant who works in a large NHS teaching hospital, and busy regional hand unit, Sonja regularly manages difficult clinical problems and is actively involved in academic aspects of medicine, teaching, training and junior doctors selection process. Healthcare management, both in the NHS and private sector, are integral part of her work schedule, although she often implies, “not her most favorite part”.
